It is an undoubted fact that a child’s overall development is no child’s play. While major subjects such as Science, Maths, languages are a vital factor, the formative years of a child owe certain credit to music. The credibility of music is evident from the fact that everyone, be it young or old has some sort of inclination towards music in some form or the other. Everyone has a favorite genre, singer, instrument, band but the one thread that connects all of it is music. It is a researched and proven fact that music has helped in the intellectual growth of children making them happy in their professional and personal life. It is a universal interest and has the potential to change the lives of children aiming for a better tomorrow.

Some points on how music aid:

1. Music is vital for reasoning capabilities:

Co-curricular activities aid in the learning process. The intellectual skills are put to test and children gain the ability to think, question and analyze on their own. Science lab activities, different technical competition, as well as literary competitions, help children learn their subjects better and in a fun way.

2. Inrease in memory:

Memory plays a vital role in music and it is sharpened through music lessons. Students get an insight into learning different aspects paving the way to learn and have fun at the same time.

3. A sense of betterment:

Music is an art. It is a craft and the ones who learn it are craftsmen. The child once learning a particular aspect wishes to learn more, better their craft and hence leaves a room for improvement, automatically making him someone who respects his hard work and never takes the same for granted.

4. Teamwork:

Musical performances need coordination and can play a huge role in team building. The children become part of something bigger and their joined hands create something all of us tend to enjoy.

5. Kids stay engaged in school:

A subject like music brings everyone together and thus kids tend to be in school learning their guitar, piano, vocals and making memories.

6. Development in the emotional spectrum:

Students of music can be more emotionally matured, with empathy being their buddy. They also tend to have higher self-esteem and are better at coping with anxiety and depression.

7. Better scores:

Scores of children having musical training are found to be at par and sometimes even higher than the toppers owing to their dedication towards a craft. Music aids studies.

8. Music helps build curiosity along with imagination:

A positive attitude towards curiosity, imagination is germinated midst kids with musical training. Children tend o be more open-minded and driven by their conscience.

9. Let’s not forget the healing power of music:

Science too has proven that music helps fight so many negative emotions. Music is extremely helpful to cope with emotions.

10. Music teaches discipline:

Kids who learn to play an instrument can learn a valuable lesson in discipline. They will have to set time aside to practice and rise to the challenge of learning with the discipline to master playing their instrument.
